Apology & Update
Since the monthly members-only "Our Abundant Lives Newsletter" published by the Life More Abundant Club comes only once a month, and since you probably receive hundreds of other communications between those monthly issues, you may or may not have noticed that the June issue simply didn't get published and emailed to you in June. While I doubt this caused anyone grave inconvenience or deep disappointment, I would still like to apologize for not maintaining a commitment I take very seriously and for not providing you with the normal level of membership services that you deserve and have paid for.
I will be sending you three Summer Issues (Issue 1, Issue 2 and Issue 3), however, even though they won't fall exactly along monthly lines (as in June, July, August). This is the first one. So you'll get 12 issues this year after all.
My husband Johnny had a heart seizure in late April and has been quite ill ever since. It took several weeks to get various medical tests completed and to get in to see his cardiologist. Once his doctor had all the test results in hand and examined Johnny he put him into the hospital a few days later and scheduled him for two "procedures." The first one was a heart catheterization A couple of days later, he had a pacemaker-plus-defibrillator implanted in his chest. We both spent the better part of a week living in the hospital, although Johnny's bed was a lot more comfortable and had a lot more bells and whistles than my pull-out cot did.
Since getting back home from the hospital a week and a half ago, Johnny has dealt with severe negative side effects from his primary heart medication (now no longer being used) and high levels of chronic pain in various parts of his body. It seems likely that some of this is related to some gastro-intestinal problems. He'll be seeing our GP in a couple of days to address some of these other issues.
With my husband at home most of the time instead of working most of the time, and in pain and needing a lot of care in terms of meal preparation, medication management, massage and companionship, I have found it impossible to maintain normal routines re: newsletter publication. Now that the surgery is behind us, things are calming down and stabilizing. We have been blessed with excellent prayer support and medical care. Our lives are slowly but surely getting back on track, as are my home business activities.
